Attorney D. Jeanne Messick has been serving the legal needs of individuals and families in the areas of elder law, estate and gift tax planning, long term care planning, wills, trust and probate administration for more than twenty-five years. Her practice includes preparation of durable powers of attorney and advance health care directives, such as living wills and health care proxies. She guides clients of substantial wealth through the process of creating an estate plan that protects lived ones and conserves taxes. She assists other clients in qualifying and applying for Medicaid/Title 19 benefits and Veterans Aid and attendance benefits. Her experience includes successful advocacy before the State of Connecticut DSS administrative offices. As a VA-accredited attorney and a member of PLAN of Connecticut Inc., Attorney Messick has experience in asset planning to maximize benefits, as well as in creating and implementing special needs trusts for disabled family members, where appropriate. She is committed to partnering with her clients to preserve their valuable assets and independence throughout every stage of life.
